Background
House Ischarri was an ancient house that has thrived in the ancient city of Sha'ahnn . They like all others only strived to attain that which was foreseen to be the first house of Sha’ahnn. This house was the principle supplier of poisons for its and many other surrounding drow cities and even had outposts on the surface. Matron Lillintha was set on sole domination being the fifth house and boasting over six hundred soldiers and half that in slaves, it had three grown male nobles, a three month old male child of questionable patronage and seven daughters of the house. With the supposed favor of Lloth and the dark master Sharagoth House Ischarri moved against a rival house of greater stature and power. The fifth daughter of the house Vrenith, disliked the way things were run in the house and on the day of this great battle stole her youngest brother away fled Sha'ahnn and the underdark for the surface. This action stole any favor the great house had with the Spider Queen and their campaign failed. As a result of the failed assault the house was decimated and destroyed though rumors persisted of a few soldiers and a daughter that may have survived
Mith Kal’daka was born millennia ago and left on Ishla, a world not of his birth. He was found by the Vertyho’s clan of druids, a clan of battledruids who train in all forms of combat but due to life spans limited to 500 years, (this is actually quite a long time to live for a human) they master only a select few. Differing from the druids of the forgotten realms, they did not shun non natural magic, but sought it and all other forms of knowledge from their world. The only thing that identified this child was a pair of drow daggers with the house name Ischarri engraved in their hilts. After raising and training this strange elf looking creature they discovered he had a tendency to regenerate and on some rare occasions when the moon was out he would shift into a large manlike canine form. He could also see in the dark perfectly and his eyes would glow with different hues depending on his mode of sight, and different brightness depending on his emotions. After nearly a hundred years training with the battle druids he was taken to the druid keep to be granted an apprentice ship with an Dark elven druid, (who's enhanced druid life span was about 50,000 years). This druid was the 8th lt. to the reigning High Druid at the time. His preferred language was that of the Ilythiiri or drow high tongue, and so he required his apprentice to speak this language at all times in his presence. He could also sense the young druid’s blood line from a royal drow house but he said nothing to him of this, not wanting the young Drow to ever learn of his true and hateful roots. And so Ischarri’s studies as a druid began. During this time there was a continuing dialog and sharing of information with the mages guilds of the realms, and those of other planes that wished to travel to the keep. But this truce was uneasy certain rough mages had often attacked traveling druids and stolen their Tomes of Knowledge that were directly linked to the High Druids own tome.
After serving in apprenticeship form to the 8th lt. for nearly a thousand years, learning to speak flawless in Ilythiiri, and surpassing even the knowledge of the first lt. Mith Kal’daka was the apprenticed directly to the High Druid himself and marked as successor to the position. After nearly 500 years several mage guilds declared open war on the druids demanding their disband meant and the destruction of information witch could erode their power base. The drow was beginning to suspect by now that something was different about him. And that even with the help of druid restorative magic’s he was not as the rest of his race should be. During this conflict, the now Lord Ischarri, proves just how much he has learned. He achieves in 4 years the making of a druids battle staff, the weapon the druids of this realm used to channel their earth and inner magic, this feat fastest know completion time before hand was 13 years by the most skilled of druids. Most of the druids suspected it was his mixed blood that had allowed for this. After completing this weapon he then proceeded to fight the mages on there own terms having discovered before latent untapped abilities to tap into at the time an unknown energy source. After pushing back this thrust from the rouge mages guild he secured a pact from other guilds to keep the rouges in check. However the rouge guilds still placed large bounties on his head, (most are still there) for their embarrassing defeat.
Other 250 years had past Ischarri went on an expedition to learn what more he could of nature, when he came upon a wondrous animal. It was a dire spirit wolf, and it looked to have been injured by a mages arcane fire ball. Ischarri tended the animal’s wounds and restored it to full heath, and since then the wolf is never far from him. Through their long friendship Ischarri has learned to understand and use wolf growls to communicate with his friend. On this same journey Mith Kal’daka had teleported himself into a cave to avoid a blizzard and much to his surprise the cave already had an occupant. Inside was a wounded drow and upon seeing this intruder he immediately pulled two scimitars and attacked. The druid not wanting to kill a man simply over an intrusion error fought only defensively, still this had no effect on the wounded drow he began throwing globes of darkness everywhere so as to try and confuse this enemy.. It was only after most of his wounds had reopened could the druid subdue him. Placing the dark elf under a heavy sleep spell. He healed his wounds and stayed to watch over him as he recovered. This act had a strange effect on the drow for when he awoke he decided not to again attack this strange being that had helped him. His tongue had been remove and himself banished to the surface for killing a priestess, though the spell that was used to send him here was wrong and sent him to Vertyho’s instead. And so communication was difficult. After much time the druid learned his hand code and the drow began teaching the druid the drow battle techniques and the use of their scimitars and daggers.
When the training was complete the drow relinquished his scimitars to the druid saying;”Take these and use them for good perhaps you can rectify the evil they have been used for"... Unlike most drow made weapons these were not affected by sunlight and were of an uncanny power, they could channel a wielders power and send it through his opponent’s weapons causing pain and even death. The drow also gave the druid a parchment with the words to an enchantment spell that could be used to set an enchantment on weapons that prevented others from taking them and so they would return on a command of thought... A few days later the druid awoke and the drow was dead, he had killed himself to end his torment.
A thousand + years had passed since the apprenticeship to the High Druid had begun when it was suddenly cut short by an attack from the rouge mage guilds, they had finaly learned to decipher the stolen tomes and had learned of the location of the groves in which the druids met and the location of the keeps. There was a horrific battle which all but wipes out the council if druids and nearly destroyed the keep. After a pitched battle that lasted three days and nights the druids finaly won out, but the price was heavy. The High Druid was dead having killed a group of arch mage lords the backlash of the spell killed him as well. Mith Kal’daka was dragged from the battle field by Wulfe unconscious but still clutching his staff, which no one could remove from his hand. It was thought that he would die from his wounds leaving the decimated druid council with no leader. But after a month had passed it was noticed that his wounds had started to heal the lost limbs regenerating. After three months his body was once again whole and he regained consciousness. At once he began restructuring the order to better be prepared for such an assault. And after 3000 years he moved the keep its self to a magically hidden valley that only the druids could find.
Once these tasks had been completed Mith Kal’daka once again set out to wander the world, and to seek vengeance on thee rouge mage guilds. It was on one of these mage hunts that he met his first love, a sorceress of great power. A woman named Oloth Jallid d' Ssussun, who had been robbed by the same rouge guilds of her house and family just because of here ability to control arcane magic with out the use of any physical spell components*. She was a drow of strange morals. (later he found she was not drow but native dark skinned elf of this realm. Her family had lived on the surface and taught her to the Use of arcane magics that pulled thair power strait from the chaotic planes themselves. She refused to let the power mad guilds have this knowledge so they took every thing they could from her and was thus also on a quest to remove these guilds from power. After 500 ish years of mage hunting they had destroyed the most prominent of the rouge mage guilds and settle into a life of peace. Unfortunately though she was a powerful sorceress she could only sustain her life force for 10034 years and so died of old age. As her final gifts she gave Ischarri the spell to read her tome of magic, and she told him of what two of his three blood lines consisted of so he could find out where he came from. And in her honor he made his home in the plane of arcanium*, a plane that only magic users of the highest caliper can access. It is here is Arcane Fortress now sits, sits in the chaos of the energies that flow through here. It is for his choice of home the rest of the druids jokingly referee to Ischarri as the High Druid of Chaos.
With further research he found his home plane but because he was traversed through time as well as through the planes he found himself, before he left. By several thousand years. He himself now over the age of 55,000 himself. He was just intimae to witness the fall and subsequent banishment of his race. Though he was unaware of the scope of what had happened. A great opportunity had been missed by the drow, though it would take him until relatively recently to discover this. However once with his own people he began to see things in a different light. Power was not something to be feared but rather, to be gained. Mages were to be exploited and then killed to keep such knowledge a secret. He all but abandoned his responsibilities as the leader of the druid council of Ragnor, returning only once every ten years to acquire the information gathered by the other druids and to drop little tidbits for them to use and keep them unsuspecting of his future plots.
In what was probably the most insane thing the drow ever pulled he turned himself over to Illithid, willingly becoming their slave. He spent two hundred years serving Kritch’ta, a some what weak minded of the lot type of Illithid. Through his training to resist Mind affecting spell he was able to make Kritch’ta think that he was completely complacent. And through observance learned how it was they used their minds to access even more power. Never did it occur to Mith Kal’daka that this might led to strange bouts of insanity or that it would one day affect the one weapon he had kept with him the longest. In the end he tested his new found abilities on the very one he had stolen them from. Though at this time not as effectively quiet as the Illithid's themselves he still won out in the end, though slightly insane from the encounter. Through deep meditation and control he hides this from most of those who he deals with. And once again he left a civilization with a price on his head; though after a millennia the Illithid’s remember not what it was they hunted. A little gift from the Departing drow Psion.
His life continued as much, for the next twenty thousand years. Infiltrating or just out right stealing books, information and skills from those who had what he desired. He still does not see things as the rest of his people do but is more at home with them than with the surface races. Still he finds that some warrant befriending or alliances.
Most recently (last 30,000 years) he has begun reconstructing his house it’s near the surface and grows daily. The current incarnation house of Ischarri was founded nearly 67,000 years from present date.
It was founded by a drow druid. This drow was supposed to be the lost child of the fallen house of Ischarri. The only proof of this are two ornately carved ancient yet powerfully enchanted mithril daggers with the house crest in the blades and hilts. Many drow houses argue the truth of this fact because few drow have ever reached even ten thousand years of age let alone the required almost twenty-five -thousand years from the fall and rebirth of the house. But the truth most say is in the eyes of the noble drow who sits at the house head. Though the house resembles a typical drow house it is not located within any widely known drow city but set at least three weeks journey from Menzoberranzan and a months distance from it original city of Sha'ahnn. It is run by a male instead of a female and multiple priestesses of multiple deities serve within the house for those drow who choose to serve separate gods. Also the house does not forbid the use of rivvil magic, while generally erratic it generally gets the job done. All male nobles and assassins are trained in reading and nobles are all taught to read magic prints similar to those used by mages requiring mage sight. The house also has extensive libraries and quiet study areas with taught ....servants to teach the ways of other races to those sent to deal with them. Also the house has once again become famouse for its production and sale of posions and healing potions. Its most prominent out post know as "Har'ol d'lil Ilythiiri El'inssring" along the middle of the mountain range known as the "Spine of the world" Is the best known place to acquire drow poisons and weapons. His standing army rivals that of House Baenre of the underdark city Menzobarranzan, though most is in mercenaries and enslaved lesser races. His surface gate also doubles as the tavern where Mith Kal'daka conducts business and meetings with other drow, and surface houses and kingdomes.

| Mith Kal’daka’s battle staff.
A large staff weapon that stands nearly 7 feet tall including a foot long blade in its upper end. Crafted in his child hood in a different realm, this weapon is rarely far away forming him for any amount of time. Through the wooden shaft the drow has learned to channel all basic forms of energy out from or into himself. This has also given the weapon other unusual properties that add to its effectiveness. Techniques used in the weapons construction make it indestructible and very deadly. Gold plates in the haft discharge electrical energy when they come in contact with blades or opponents and the staff itself has gained intelligence akin to Mith's own mind. The staff has been known to lash out with large amount of psionic energy to those who attempt to probe its wielders mind. To touch the weapon is also folly only the one who created it or to one it’s freely given can wield this weapon, and it can detect psionic interference in the decision to give.

These scimitars were forged in the underdark and given to Mith Kal’daka as gift from another drow who’s life he saved. Though many centuries have passed Mith does not regret the action. Though if faced with the sam action again he would most likely just kill the drow.
Through miths untrained use of arcane magics these blades are forcefully embued with many magical traits … many left to be discovered still.

the cliffside tavern AKA 'Woulfe's Den Tavern and Inn' "Swim, Fly, or Run! by Tobias Woulfe posted 19 September 2006 @ 21:25 The Cliffside Tavern, once a place of gathering to many, and home to perhaps more. This great place stood as an Icon to RP in Ayenee, until the great cataclysm that destroyed the paths of that world. A great many who worked there and frequented there were lost in the upheaval. For over a year, the Tavern has been trying to survive here, its staff watching the empty rooms and hoping for the vibrant patrons which once graced its tables. It has survived, despite odds against it. The feelings that created it pushing it forwards. It is not just created by the Owner, the Keepers, it is created and maintained by all who come there, it always has been. This is a call to all, Newcomers, returners and those who never left - The Cliffside still stands, as it always shall, come to the forums or come to the chat and let its doors swing wide with the ever entering shadows. If none are around to open the tavern, open the room yourselves and enjoy the RP! ~Well said Tobias, Thank you. Just a foot note, The Cliffside Tavern was thought, seen as a run down building at the top of a set of cliffs the summer of 1997. Ten years its been around. Thats a long time for any gaming realm. Thanks all who made it possible. Sirene/Aliesh" |

The Realm of Faerun. "Faerun is a world among many in the forgotten realms Multiverse and so is accessible to many different beings. Stories of legend and stories never to be told have and will unfold here, weather in the great cities or in the lonely wilderness. Who is to say? But we of the Ancients know…… stories will be told." |
